Lake Turkana
For small scale groups (1-3 persons maximum) Ngari Hill offers a guided camping / lodging tour to the northern pastoralist region of Kenya. This private safari starts and ends at Ngari Hill and is designed to provide the ultimate northern Kenya travel experience. From Ngari Hill the route leads us down the escarpment, with breathtaking views over the valley below, via Baragoi to South Horr where we make our first camp and spend the night in an idyllic spot under the stars.
The next day the safari continues towards Loiyangalani. On our way to lake Turkana we will encounter traditional groups of Samburu, Turkana and Pokot. On arrival in Loiyangalani we will spend two nights in Oasis Lodge at the shores of Lake Turkana. After a refreshing dip in the swimming pool we will visit the lake, buy a freshly caught Tilapia and bring it back to the lodge for dinner. The second day in Loiyangalani can consist of a visit to the El Molo tribe (the smallest surviving tribe in Kenya), visit ancient rock engravings and explore the harsh but beautiful surroundings of Loiyangalani. Between 6 and 7 p.m. you will be treated with the best sundowner you can imagine.

Night Sky at Ngurunit
From Loiyangalani, the route moves into south western direction where we camp overnight in the mountainous area of Ngurunit. You can opt for a morning hike into the surrounding mountains. From here we travel to Sabache tented camp in Namunyak conservancy where two nights are spent. Staying in Sabache allows for a hiking visit to Mount Olokwe, a Game drive into the Samburu National Park or a visit to the Reteti Elephant Sanctuary. The following and final day will be spent travelling along the scenic route to Maralal / Ngari Hill via Wamba.
Various adaptations to the route- planning can be considered depending on the wishes of the client. For example the route can alter from Loiyangalani through the Chalbi Desert where overnight camping stops at North Horr and or Kalacha can be made.
